General Fund
Donating to SVHS’ general fund is an unrestricted donation towards the daily expenses of SVHS.
Digital and Oral History Initiative Fund
Donating to SVHS’ Digital Initiative and Oral History fund is a restricted donation that will only be used in the digitization of items in the Collections at SVHS. To realize these important digital and oral histories objectives, it is necessary to fund this and other future initiatives outside of the normal budget. An organized and readily accessible history of our community will promote further scholarship and ultimately a greater understanding of our wonderful Sewickley Valley for future generations.
Acquisition Initiative Fund
Contributions to the Acquisition Initiative Fund are restricted donations used towards building the Collections at SVHS. While the majority of our collection was created through donations of Sewickley Valley History via individual donors, there are times when we would like to pursue items to help make the collection more complete, rather than await a hopeful donation of them.
Speaker Honorarium Fund
The establishment of this fund allows SVHS to approach a new and diverse slew of speakers for the SVHS lecture series and special programming. This fund helps SVHS offer speakers compensation for their time, expenses -- including possibly traveling to and staying in the area -- and their expertise. This fund enables SVHS to enrich and expand our programming with a variety of speakers.
Help Make SVHS’ America250 Programming Possible
SVHS has a number of special programs planned to help commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. There are number of opportunities to enhance that programming and/or increase it with additional financial support. If you would like to see history based programming play a big part of America250 in the Sewickley Valley, we hope that you might consider donating to SVHS in the coming months. Your support will help SVHS to bring additional interpreters to the area, pay for advertisements of our ongoing programming, and make events as affordable as possible for the public. Consider donating at commemorative levels of $25, $250, or $2500.
