Join us at 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 20, 2026, for the Annual Membership Meeting of the Sewickley Valley Historical Society.
The evening will include:
- Review of general business of SVHS with SVHS President Marty O'Brien.
- Highlights of 2025 - 2026, from SVHS committee chairs.
- Presentation of the 2026 Preservation Award.
- Presentation of the 2026 B.G. Shields Award for Achievement in Preservation.
- Membership vote on the slate of board members as proposed by the nominating committee.
All attendees are asked to RSVP in advance so that accurate numbers for seating and refreshments can be established.
Doors open at 6:30 pm
A light fare of food and drinks will be provided for members who arrive starting at 6:30 pm and again following the meeting.
Following the business portion of the Annual Meeting - Attendees will get a special look at a selection of recently digitized materials from the Collections at SVHS – “Reliving the Sewickley Bicentennial,” originally presented as a program to SVHS on Wednesday, April 24, 1996.
SVHS Nominating Committee Report
The Sewickley Valley Historical Society Nominating Committee (Susan Holton, Chair; Kathy Brandt; Jay Brooks; Susan Kaminski; John Poister) proposes the following members as officers and directors, to be elected at the Annual Meeting, Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The following have agreed to be nominated as Officers for a first two-year term:

Nominations may be made from the floor at the May 20, 2026 Annual Meeting, provided the person nominated has agreed to serve if elected.
** Due to the untimely death of SVHS Member Will Harbison, the Nominating Committee is announcing Jeff Murray in his place on their proposed slate. SVHS extends its heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Will Harbison; his long-standing commitment to the Sewickley Valley will be dearly missed.
